Do the
Alligator Crawl with the Farlow- Kirch Band!!
Billy C has
joined forces with Rich Kirch, who for 14 years was lead guitarist
for the late, great John Lee Hooker. The result is a stunning
new cd released in June, 2005, Alligator Crawl, on Globe Records
available at Borders and other retail outlets, as well as websites
such as eBay and Globe Records.com. It has been proclaimed by
J.C. Flyer of Gritz Magazine as one of the best cds released this
year and by Francois Pfieffer of the French publication Blues
Magazine, "the foundation stone of a duo that will go down in
history. The band has been touring and knockin' 'em dead
at venues around the country!
Farlow
composed nine of the eleven tunes, most notably the raunchy "Go
Get Your Monkey"; the swamp anthem "Southern Moon"; a
tribute to his late friend and Commander Cody drummer Lance Dickerson
"Crack in the Wall"; as well as the title track, Alligator
Crawl. The sizzling of Kirch dominates throughout and
compliments Billy C's trademark raspy voice and hellhound
harmonica. The contribution of the supporting musicians is
equally impressive. Keith Crossan, veteran sax man of Tommy
Castro; Dave Tolmie, bassist with Maria Muldaur, Roy Rogers, and
others; Bay Area legend Brent Rampone on drums; produced by
keyboardist Austin DeLone from Howard Tate, Elvis Costello and
others; Billy Gibson of Huey Lewis and the News on percussion and co-production.
On his own,
Billy C is featured in a hot off the press cd compilation from France
for UNESCO's Pour la Terre Organization that also includes the
Grateful Dead, Doobie Brothers, and others. Available at major
outlets, as well as iTunes.com and www.pourlaterre.org,
Billy C's "The Rain Don't Fall on Me" is one of the top
four downloaded songs.
The
Farlow-Kirch Band will be touring the U.S. and Europe to promote the
new cd. Check out Billy C's tour calendar for a venue near you!
